Established in 1982, UAE Banks Federation (UBF) is the sole representative body of the member banks and financial institutions operating in the UAE. It advocates members interests and enhances cooperation and coordination among them so as to upgrade the banking industry for the benefit of the banking sector and national economy.
UBF is managed by a nine-member Board of Directors elected every three years. The Board of Directors is responsible for planning, policy-making and supervision of UBF’s activity. The Board of Directors is chaired by H.E. AbdulAziz Abdullah Al-Ghurair, Chairman of Mashreq Bank.

Cyber Wargaming annual event is organized under the supervision of Central Bank of the UAE and Cyber Security Council. The event aims to protect the sector's digital infrastructure and provide a smooth and secure banking experience for all customers in the face of rapid technological development.
The largest of its kind in the Middle East, Cyber Wargaming event is attended by a number of representatives from GCC central banks, leading UAE banks, financial and technology institutions, cybersecurity experts from the banking and financial sector, and strategic partners of the Federation.
The event is characterized by the specially designed simulated cyberattacks to learn about the capabilities of our member banks' cybersecurity teams in dealing with such risks and to identify strengths and gaps through cybersecurity exercises to improve knowledge of the techniques, methods and procedures used by the attackers and the factors that are the source of the threats.
UBF’s Regulatory Conference focuses on initiatives and efforts in building secure and transparent banking and the efforts to enhance compliance with laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines and to meet the highest standards of governance, transparency and risk management in the UAE banking sector. The annual event is part of our initiatives to promote a safe and secure financial sector in line with the directives of Central Bank of the UAE, which is working to develop an appropriate framework to maintain the UAE's leading position as a global financial and banking hub.
All publications released by the UBF provide an overview of the organization’s key activities over the past years, through Annual Reports, Surveys and Financial Literacy Handbooks. The activities and figures featured in the reports focus on the support extended to banks and customers and the development of growth focused agenda for the local banking industry.
