UBF Names Keynote Speakers at Middle East Banking Forum 2015
The UAE Banks Federation, a professional representative body comprising 49 member banks operating in the UAE, has named the top speakers at its forthcoming annual forum on the 16th of November, at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. The forum, which this year has the theme of “Leaders in Innovation”, is once again being organised in collaboration with the Financial Times Live and The Banker magazine.
The conference will also be addressed by H.E. Mubarak Rashid Al Mansoori, Governor of UAE Central Bank, who will review the regulatory and banking environment in UAE.
Scott Bales is an international consultant and speaker on challenges facing business, governments and society due to the “Digital Shift”, which encompasses innovation, culture, design, and mobility in a digital world. Originally from Australia, he is Managing Director of Innovation Labs Asia based in Singapore. He has worked with various governments across the globe, taking on key advisory roles in countrywide infrastructure. He is the author of consumer behaviour best-seller ‘Mobile Ready‘and the upcoming ‘Innovation Wars’. Scott is the founder of MetLife’s Innovation Centre, and was also Chief Innovation Officer for Movenbank.
Anthony Browne was appointed CEO of the British Bankers' Association in 2012. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for external engagement on political and regulatory issues. Prior to that he was policy director for economic development for Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London. He earlier ran Policy Exchange, the UK’s largest free market think tank, and spent the first two decades of his career as a television and newspaper journalist, covering politics, business and economics.
Neal Cross is Managing Director and Chief Innovation Officer of DBS bank in Singapore. He joined DBS from MasterCard in 2014, where as Vice President of MasterCard Lab she was responsible for driving innovation in the company’s Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions. His role at DBS is to drive the bank’s innovation agenda across its key axes of growth, namely, Greater China, Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Topics to be discussed will include the power of original thinking, change management, digital banking, social media, bank accelerator programmes and innovation labs, emerging global banking threats, cyber security and new product and service development.
