Lebanese Business Delegation Visits UAE Banks Federation

A delegation of over 10 senior representatives of Lebanon’s business, banking and trade institutions, currently on a 4day visit to the UAE, has had discussions with the UAE Banks Federation about areas of future co-operation and collaboration.
The group were hosted by the Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation and CEO of Mashreq Bank HE AbdulAziz Al Ghurair. The event took place at Mashreq Bank Head office in Dubai on 19th May 2015. The visiting delegation was headed by Mr. Muhammad Shokeir Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon. It also includes key figures from Lebanon’s banking sector.
At the meeting the delegation praised the economic growth in the UAE and recognised the support which the UAE has provided to Lebanon both economically and commercially. The two sides also discussed areas of future co-operation in various economic sectors, including banking, trade and industry, investment and tourism.
HE AbdulAziz Al Ghurair said “We thank our guests for their valuable visit, which reflects the strong relationship between us and our colleagues in Lebanon, and which helps to strengthen the framework of mutual cooperation between UAE and Lebanon. The UAE Banks Federation has historical and very beneficial ties with Lebanon’s Association of Banks, and we are always looking for new ways to consolidate our ties with them and further strengthen such relationships, and this visit was very helpful in that respect.”
